Anna Z.
UVic Student Mental Health Blogger
My name is Anna Zimmerman (she/her), and I am a second year psychology student.
I am originally from Alberta, and since I moved to Victoria, I have absolutely fallen in love with the Island. I am so grateful to be pursuing my education in such an amazing place. You can find me exploring new spots in Victoria, creating memories with friends, and spending time outdoors in my spare time!
After completing my undergraduate degree, I plan to continue my education and complete my Master’s degree. My end goal is to practice as a Registered Psychologist! Currently, I am exploring what mental health focuses are most interesting and important to me! The topic of mental health is very important to me, and exploring the many realms of psychology has been such an amazing journey. Knowing that one day I will have a significant influence on the lives of those in need is what I look forward to most.
I am so excited to be a part of the Mental Health Blog Team. I am looking forward to contributing to the topic of mental health, offering insight to my fellow students, and being a part of a safe place for students to read relatable posts about mental health matters!
I acknowledge and respect the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples on whose traditional territory the university stands and the Songhees, Esquimalt, and WSÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
