Sané D.
UVic Student Mental Health Blogger
Hi everyone! my name is Sané and I’m a fifth-year student studying Biology, Psychology and Math.
My parents are from South Africa, but I myself was born in Saskatchewan and grew up in Kelowna, BC. In my free time, I love doing anything outside, whether that’s hiking, camping, surfing, or canoeing. I’m also a big reader, so if any of you folks have book recommendations, send me a message! I currently volunteer for CFUV as an audio production assistant so you might hear my voice pop up if you’re tuning into the campus radio station.
I am passionate about getting the conversation started around mental health and I am really excited to be blogging about it this year! In my first year at UVic, I didn’t really understand what mental health meant or the stigma surrounding mental illness. I have learned so much during my time as a university student and I am very excited to share some advice this year and to learn even more from you readers!
