Maria T.
UVic Student Mental Health Blogger
Hey! My name is Maria (she/her) and I am currently a third year psychology at UVic. In 2022, I will be studying abroad at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, where I will study in the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience.
I believe that talking openly about mental health and wellness is such an important step in fighting the stigma against mental illness. I hope that by sharing my own challenges with my mental well-being and listening to experiences of others I can expand my knowledge on the topic of mental health.
In my free time, I love spending time outdoors. In the summer you can find me lounging on a beach or swimming at a lake, and in the winter I’ll be up the mountains snowboarding. Some of my other hobbies include; working out, cooking, art, and hanging out with my kitten!
I’m thrilled to be part of the UVic Student Mental Health Initiative, and I’m looking forward to being part of community where students can read relatable posts about promoting mental wellness!
