Eleni T.
UVic Student Mental Health Blogger
My name is Eleni (she/her/hers), and I am a 5th-year double major student in Art History and English Literature at Uvic. In my spare time, I like to read, watch movies, and continuously refresh the costar app. I also love camping, travelling, and exploring, with many of my stories and experiences are from backpacking or exchange, where I spent a year in the U.K.
While I am not a psychology student, mental illness and mental health have been lifelong challenges for me, continuously presenting new and strange hurdles. I am a self-diagnosed Web MD addict and have often found myself scrolling through endless google pages ranging from “Is having dark intrusive thoughts normal” to “36 places to run away to in Europe right now,” (I presume compulsive symptom googling is a symptom of a broader anxiety issue). Nevertheless, finding articles and blogs was one of the most helpful ways to find support from people of all walks of life. This is why I am interested in the UVic Student Mental Health Blog, not just to write and preach, but to learn from my community. I am no expert in mental health but have such a wide range of experiences that I am eager to share with all those feeling alone, confused, or just simply bored.
