Failing at Fitness – Climbing at CARSA

PoutineCarsaThis article is about a war of worlds, if I was incredibly narcissistic.

The direct opposition to my fitness is my love of foods like this greasy waffle fry poutine from Mystic Market (which you should definitely try).

My addiction to sugary fatty foods and my addiction to climbing: one will have to start giving way to the other at some point.

Climbing has truly began to consume my life. I’ve made good progress in the last two months. I’m feeling stronger, working out consistently and sleeping better, but the crux of my climbing is definitely diet.

Considering all the challenges of student life I’ve overcome it’s amazing how much I suck at putting healthy food in my body (eating…).

This is not going to be an easy thing to improve, and I have plenty of excuses like cost, time, taste, comfort, etc. Any suggestions or tips would be great :).

Hopefully climbing can be the catalyst for a better diet as it has already been for my sleeping habits.

    1. Eliminate ALL processed foods.
    2. Say so-long to sugar.
    3. Ditch dairy.
    4. Turf the white flour.
    5. Look for other protein options – not just meats.
    6. Shop in the outside aisles of the supermarket only. (unless you’re buying frozen fruits/veggies)
    7. Throw out your excuses – all of them. 🙂
    8. Start–now.

Guaranteed, combined with adequate exercise, you’ll turn into a lean, mean, climbing machine!
    Good luck!

Hmmmm there is a lot to think about there. I don’t know how well founded ditching dairy and white flour is for someones overall diet. But getting rid of sugar would go a long way for me.

Anyone could identify me as a University student through my diet. I eat a lot of rice, steamed veggies, peanut butter, and bananas pretty generic for a University student I think.
