Food for Thought: Great Places to Eat in Victoria
If you are living on campus, there gets to a point in the semester where no matter how good the food is, you just want something different. Maybe it’s a slice from your favourite pizza place, or something totally new and exotic.
Whatever you are looking for, Victoria is full of amazing hidden restaurants and places just waiting to be discovered. While it’s fun to go and find those places of your own, here is a list to help get you started!
Floyd’s Diner – One of the best breakfast places in Victoria, but you’d better get there early, because they close at 3! They are famous for The Mahoney, which is like a breakfast Russian roulette.
The Village – The Village serves brunch from all locally made ingredients, and has a large variety of gluten free options! They are famous for their eggs benedict, and there is a Village 10 minutes away from UVic!
The Joint – If you don’t want a huge meal, The Joint does amazing pizza by the slice! They also have a gluten-free section that is made totally separately, so celiacs don’t have to worry about cross contamination!
Thai Lemongrass – Lemongrass is a favourite among many UVic students, especially because it’s right down the hill in Cadboro Bay! It is the place to go if you want to try something new, or are looking for your new regular spot.
Park’s Kitchen – Park’s Kitchen combines Japanese and Korean cuisine so you’ll always find something you like! It is a little off the beaten path down Trounce Alley, but if you take the time to find it, you won’t be disappointed.
Original Joe’s – If you’re looking for a classic burger and fries, this is the place to come. It has great food, good portion sizes, and is only five minutes down the road from UVic on the #26 bus!
Bon Macaron – One of Victoria’s most up and coming dessert places, Bon Macaron boasts a huge variety of flavours and whether you are going in for a small treat after dinner, or to get a whole box, there will always be something new to try!
