Ideafest: Refugee Advocacy (video)

With so many things happening around campus it is easy to let things slip by. Ideafest should not be one of them.

At the suggestion of a few friends, I attended a workshop called “Breaking Down the Fence: Exploring Refugee Advocacy through Applied Theatre.” There we learned a whole new understanding of “home” and that for some people, it’s not as simple as it sounds. In our session, we got a bit of an insight into the struggles faced by a refugee in today’s political climate, and a unique opportunity to explore our feelings on the subject in a safe environment.

If you are interested in this or any of the wide variety of things being showcased this week I highly recommend you take a look. Ideafest runs March 7-12 at various locations around campus, all the info can be found on the Ideafest website.
