Things to Do in Victoria: Hike Mount Douglas

The other day, my friends and decided to go hiking. Mt. Doug is a fantastic place to go for a nice walk, lovely fresh air, and breathtaking views of mountains, the ocean, and the city. We wanted to make it to the summit for sunset, and the near race against the sun was well worth it.

While I’m sure there are plenty of simple ways to ascend the mountain (including driving most of the way up the paved road), I’m certain we took the most convoluted path of hopping trails and scaling rocks. Our path was much more intense than I had expected, but that was lack of planning on our part! 

I would seriously recommend exploring Mount Doug to anyone. Grab some water and snacks, hike to the top, and take in the amazing view of the diverse landscape that the island has to offer.
