Paper accepted for a Special Issue in Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds Journal, Usman, M., Haworth, B., Kapadia, M., & Faloutsos, P. Democratizing the Simulation of Human-Building Interactions (see edits below, paper now published). GAIDG Lab external collaborator and York University Doctoral student Muhammad developed a system that turns complicated crowd simulation into a Software as a Service. This paper represents the first exploration of crowds as SaaS platform. By moving the complicated setup and configuration processes required to run crowd simulations to the cloud, we enable designers to integrate synthetic crowds simulations into their pipelines.

Edit February 17, 2021: Paper published as Usman, M., Haworth, B., Faloutsos, P., & Kapadia, M. Simulation‐as‐a‐Service: Analyzing Crowd Movements in Virtual Environments, https://doi.org/10.1002/cav.1990

Edit September 8, 2020: Dr. Usman successfully defends his  Doctoral Dissertation. This work represents a key deliverable on a long line of impressive systems and outcomes related to human-aware environment design!
