Stick to It

Fun assortment of sticky notes!

Sticky Notes. We love them. We hate them. (No, but why would you hate them?) They come in all sorts of colours, shapes, and designs. They have different uses ranging from bookmarking pages to separating chapters.

We’ve slowly moved away from having physical paper and when all our coursework is online and all our assignments have to be done on the computer, it can be annoying having paper lying around, no matter how small.

This year, I’ve discovered one of the most useful tools on my computer and you guessed it, it’s the sticky notes app!

Every week, I start off by listing out the tasks for that week. I separate it by class and then by importance.

What my weekly to do lists used to look like when I wrote them down in a journal!

It was easy to see exactly what I had to do (which chapters to read, what assignments were due, meeting times, etc) and crossing each one off after completing it felt great.

Some of you may be using the calendar app and putting in all the deadlines but that can quickly become messy when you realize the amount of midterms, assignments, and pre-chapter readings to do in one week.

I found that working through each week one at a time was more manageable than looking at the monthly calendar. Seeing all the things I had to do for the month quickly led to feeling overwhelmed and worry that I wouldn’t be able to finish everything in time.

This is what works for me and it might work for you but might not! The important thing is to find a way for you to keep track of all your tasks and responsibilities during this hectic time of the year!

What my sticky notes look like now! The way I divide them varies each week.
