5 Downtown Victoria Local Shops to Check out

Not only is shopping from a local business best for the economy and community, you can also find unique gifts when you shop local. Luckily, Victoria has a vibrant local business scene for all of your shopping—whether it’s a gift for someone else or you’re treating yourself.

Here are five suggestions in Downtown Victoria to get you started. And a bonus is, they’re all within walking distance of each other!

Paboom – 1437 Store St

Paboom is a great place to shop because they have affordable, unique home products that make a great gift for your parents or a friend who’s just moved out on their own. Every time I walk in this store I seem to walk out with something!

Oscar and Libby’s – 560 Johnson St #101 and 795 Fort St

Oscar and Libby’s is a Victoria staple because they have something for everyone. It’s my go-to spot when I’m stumped on a secret Santa or a birthday gift because they have everything from drag queen magnets to ramen band-aids and everything in between! Plus, I always seem to walk away with a new tote bag after being in one of their stores—it’s now a growing collection.

Belle General – 846 Fort St

I’ve been following Belle General since they first opened, and it’s one of my favourite stores to pop into, because I always find something unique—candles that look like food is just one of the many examples. It’s also self-titled as a “bougie 7-eleven” and specializes in vegan snacks!

Good Vibe Space Inc – 565 Johnson St

I feel like every time I go in this store I take a picture of something so that I remember to come back and buy it as a gift someday. From local artist prints, to funky jewelry, to starfish soap, there’s a gift for everyone at Good Vibe Space.
