Hunter is a third-year Electrical Engineering student who is passionate about robotics. Since becoming co-president in September 2023, he has focused on building a strong team looking to improve upon last years result at the RoboSub Competition. Additionally, he is assisting the Electrical team with their ongoing projects. Outside of the club Hunter enjoys playing hockey, hiking, and camping.
Devin is a mechanical engineering student interested in mechatronics and manufacturing design. He enjoys spending his time playing basketball and being outdoors. He designed the kill switch and worked on the stability calculations for the Trident. He is currently working on designing a tether and working with a team on the new dropper.
Mechanical Team Lead
Isaac is a mechanical engineering student interested in robotics and mechanical design. He loves spending time mountain biking, hiking and eating great food. For the Trident, Isaac spent his time working on the stability. This year he is developing the all new dropper.
Sierra is an engineering student at UVic interested in 3-D modeling. She loves to mountain bike and ski, and she is currently working on the new torpedo system for the sub.
Matt is a fourth year mechanical engineering student focusing on embedded systems and general mechatronics. He is currently working on battery enclosure improvements for the sub.
Cole is a third year mechanical engineering student. He designed the current AUVIC logo, enjoys watching sports, and hiking.
Sam is a second year mechanical engineering student who is passionate about robotics and 3d modelling. He helped prototype the gripper mechanism for a previous vehicle and is currently working with the rest of the mechanical team to produce a new vehicle design for this year’s Robosub competition. In addition to his engineering expertise, Sam has a creative side and enjoys music and video production.
Matthew is a second year computer engineer at UVIC who enjoys working on firmware and software. He is part of the electrical team at AUVIC and works on projects from firmware for stm32 chips to opencv computer vision. Outside of engineering Matthew enjoys hiking rocky trails, watching American/Japanese cartoons and designing fascinating scenes/models in blender.
Nick is a first year engineering student. He is working on the motor controller and firmware.
Software Team Lead
Victor is a second year Computer Science student who joined AUVIC in his first year of study at UVic. His interests lie in interdisciplinary applications of CS. He is working on computer vision and other aspects of software design.
Paddy is a 4th year computer science and psychology student who enjoys spending time with friends and meditation. He is currently assisting in computer vision and hopefully PID controller integration
Phillip is a third year software engineering student interested in bridging software for control of low level systems, as well as using machine learning to solve problems. He enjoys spending time in and around the ocean, and is currently working on implementing tests for the sub.
