UVic Libraries

Digital Scholarship Commons

We assist UVic students, faculty, and staff in learning digital tools and methodologies to help them pursue their passions and tell their research stories in engaging ways, in a welcoming, equitable, and diverse environment. We do this by offering workshops and one-on-one consultations for various software, tools (such as 3D printers, laser cutters, electronics), and more.

Workshops

We schedule workshops all year and are currently holding most of them online. Checkout our workshop schedule. Also feel free to work through any of our lesson plans on your own at your own pace.

Schedule a Consultation

Have questions or need one-on-one help with some software or a digital tool? Fill out our form and we can answer questions over email, book time to meet up in person, or via video chat.

We are an interdisciplinary space open to all and encourage cross-disciplinary conversations. We are interested in sparking opportunities for students and faculty from various disciplines to come together and talk about their work.

We offer services to help our community become well-versed in digital information fluency through one-on-one training, large workshops, digital curriculum development advice, tools, software, and more.

The Digital Scholarship Commons is committed to fostering a welcoming environment—one that is equitable, diverse and socially just.
