LEGIT, the Lesbian and Gay Immigration Taskforce, was founded in December 1991 in Vancouver, Canada. LEGIT is an organization of volunteers helping same-sex couples who wish to live together in Canada. Many of the volunteers are couples who have been successful in settling in Canada. LEGIT offer their services for free via their webpage.

Booty Freedom is a QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Color) centred space. This dance class event is open to anyone who self-identifies as QTBIPOC. The event is free and pre-registration is required. The event is taking place on September 23 from 7-8PM.

VPWAS is an organization which offers advocacy services, peer support, a positive living program (variety of events and activities), community referrals, treatment information, computer access, and a movie library. This community is for individuals living with AIDS however there are safe sex supplies and other services offered to the general public.

The purpose of the Victoria Lesbian Seniors Care Society is to support lesbian health and social needs as we age by ensuring safe, accessible, and welcoming spaces for social interactions to build a sense of community through public education and social action. The Victoria Pride Society Youth Council invites all youth (15-21) to the Pride Week Kick-Off. Celebrate the beginning of this year’s 2SLGBTQ+ Pride Week with dancing, local performers, photo booths, art, music, and food! We encourage all to dress queer formal. Admission is free but registration is required and the event is taking place on June 23, 2022 from 6:00-9:00pm.

The Unplug Collective is a space for Black and Brown womxn and non-binary folks to share their stories without fear of being silenced or censored. They also created educational materials around anti-body discrimination and fashion.

Outside the Box Counselling is offering a Gender Spectacular. A drop-in for trans and gender-creative children in grade 7 or younger. Their families and siblings are also welcome! The Gender Empowerment Centre is an inclusive space run by the UVic Students’ Society (UVSS). The space was created for women, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people, both within the UVic community and outside of it. The space is open for studying, accessing resources and support, attending workshops, and meeting others. The Gender Empowerment Centre is located in room B107 of the Student Union Building and re-opens on February 1st.

The Anti-Violence Project is offering support hours specifically for trans people on Fridays from 12-2pm. The support sessions are run by a trans person and are open to students and community members, including anyone who may have been affected by events of trans-antagonism happening on campus.
