The Veterans Independence Program provides annual funding for services that allow veterans to remain in their own homes. Examples of such services include meal preparation, grounds maintenance, personal care, and professional health services. You are eligible to apply for the program if you need home care services and you meet one or more of the following requirements: you have qualified for a disability benefit, you have qualified for the war veterans allowance, you receive Prisoner of War compensation, or you are eligible for but can’t access a Priority Access Bed in a long term care facility.
