A crowdfunding campaign to create the first Vancouver Island eagle sanctuary has reached 94% of its goal, with less than $300,000 left to go before the April 10th deadline. The purchase of the 18 acre property in the Parksville-Qualicum area would allow BC Parks, in partnership with local First Nations and other environmental groups, to develop a protected nature reserve for bald eagles.
