In honour of Black history month, the UVIC SOCC will be hosting a series of talks and movie screenings showcasing Black history and stories in Victoria and beyond. On February 9th there will be a talk on Black identity and culture in Canada by Dr. Moustapha Fall, on February 19th there will be a film screening about the experiences of Black dancers in Victoria, and on February 25th there will be a screening of “The boy who harnessed the wind,” an uplifting documentary set in Malawi.
