Jamie Lee Hellard is a student and varsity swimmer at the University of Victoria. She is also known as Victoria’s chalk fairy and creates custom chalk drawings for paediatric cancer patients on their birthdays and on the birthdays of their siblings. Hellard first got the idea last Easter as a physically distanced way to make the holiday special for her one year old niece. Since then, the chalk fairy has partnered with Island Kids Cancer Association to continue spreading joy.
