BC Housing offers several housing support services, including rental assistance, emergency shelters and drop-in centres for houseless individuals, transitional housing, as well as resources specifically for low-income families, seniors, and women fleeing violent situations (complete with a quick exit button). There is even a self-assessment tool to determine which services one may qualify for.
