February is Black History Month, a time where we celebrate the many achievements and contributions of Black Canadians and their communities who, throughout history, have done so much to make Canada the culturally diverse, compassionate, and prosperous nation it is today.
UVic would like to invite you to mark this occasion by joining our Everyday Black Excellence: Being Black on Campus event highlighting some of the Black talent that currently exists within our internal UVic and external community. Not only so, we would like to provide opportunities for attendees to brainstorm ways we can strategically address anti-Black racism in our shared community.
Event details:
- February 16th, 2022 (1:00 – 3:00pm)
- Virtual through Zoom
- Register through our UVic Events page
- You are welcome to attend as much of the event that fits your schedule
For more information about the event, please contact Mandy Suen (eqhrcomms@uvic.ca).
In addition, there are other Black History Month events going on throughout the month as well that may interest you.
