Explore Latin America virtually this fall

With many countries still under strict travel restrictions, most of us are sticking close to home this fall. But a new virtual field school lets you study in Latin America without crossing any borders. It’s not a UVic course – but we still think it’s pretty great. As an added bonus, you’ll see the sites with zero carbon footprint!

Humanities alumna Ashli Akins has partnered with National Geographic Explorers to create the Virtual Field School. Learn about sustainable communities and environmental change from experts working with local communities across Latin America.

Intended for a broad audience, the course offers seminars, virtual field trips and one-on-one mentorship. The next certificate course runs September 14-November 6, 2020.
