Since March 2022
PRIMED work on Haida Gwaii started in 2022. While working closely with the Council of the Haida Nation, PRIMED has been able to successfully complete two ADCP deployments, one wave-measurement deployment, and are in the midst of planning two more deployments in 2024.
Mowachaht Muchalaht First Nation FEED study
PRIMED is currently working with the Mowachaht Muchalaht First Nation (MMFN), Barkley Project Group (BPG), and wave developer INGINE on a FEED study to investigate the feasibility of developing a wave energy converter (WEC) to power the remote MMFN village of Yuquot on Nootka Island.
PRIMED’s assessment of social, technical, environmental, and economic criteria will allow the MMFN and Natural Resources Canada to make an informed decision for future stages of project development along with setting the stage for additional marine renewable energy developments on the west coast of Canada.
