Thunderfest is a fun and busy event promoting many UVic clubs and services, including the Digital Scholarship Commons!
This year, we decided to make the DSC booth more interactive by adding a custom Plinko game (you can find the file to make this game for yourself here).
Plinko is a game of luck where the participant drops a token, and the landing spot of the token determines a prize or, in this case, the difficulty level of a question about the DSC. When students answered the question asked by a staff member, they then had the opportunity to get a laser-cut wooden pin of their choosing. Over 90 designs were available, and about 150 pins were distributed to the UVic community!
Overall, the DSC table at Thunderfest stayed busy for the event, and dozens of students learned about our space and services.
