This event follows a public talk by UVic’s Honorary Resident Wikipedian, Dr. Erin Glass.
The Electronic Textual Cultures Lab and the University of Victoria Libraries, invite you to join us in a Wikipedia-Edit-a-thon to celebrate Open Access Week at UVic. Students and faculty have a special role to play in ensuring information on Wikipedia is accurate and up-to-date given our access to the world’s best academic resources through UVic Libraries.
We are inviting all members of UVic and the broader community to join us for a workshop and editing session in which you will learn:
1. How to create a Wikipedia username and profile
2. How to edit a Wikipedia entry
3. How to add scholarly sources to Wikipedia entries.
4. How to use UVic Library resources to verify information in Wikipedia entries.
