(Re)connection: Building Community and Moving Forward Post-COVID
Mar 30-31 2023 | Victoria, BC
This conference is aimed at presenting themes within the context of (re)connection to researchers, policymakers, graduate students, school administrators, teachers, community members and activists – an excellent opportunity to share research, practice, new ideas and frameworks.
About the AGES 2023 Conference
In only two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has drastically altered the way we live and interact, with many people feeling isolated and disconnected from their communities. In education, this has translated into a new reality of remote learning, where students, teachers, and families are trying to navigate this uncharted territory, giving us opportunities to re-evaluate our educational systems and rebuild community in new and innovative ways.
The theme of (Re)connection refers to the idea of connecting with each other in new and meaningful ways, where we are all searching for ways to build community and support each other in these challenging times. This conference is an opportunity to collaborate, exchange ideas, connect, contribute, learn and empower one another to create stronger and more connected communities in education; this is in fields as diverse as:
• Arts-based education
• Diversity and inclusion
• Leadership
• Psychology of learning
• Community and place-based education
• Exercise science, health, and recreation
• Mental health
• Sports and leisure studies
• Curriculum studies
• Indigenous education and languages
• Movement and rehabilitation science
• Teaching and learning
