It also reflects our responsibilities under federal and provincial legislation. We are working to create a welcoming environment for people of all gender identities and expressions.

What we all can do to respect and support trans, Two-Spirit and non-binary people:
  • Use the pronouns and names that people have asked you to use:
  • Practice offering your own pronouns and asking people which pronouns they use. Practice using them.
  • Avoid gendered language and activities that treat people differently based on their gender.
  • In your work conversations, learn more about gender diversity and find ways to affirm the existence of diverse genders and diverse gender experiences.
  • Move beyond assumptions by listening to what people tell you about themselves and how they live.
  • Learn about the resources to support trans, Two-Spirit and non-binary people in health services, the workplace, classrooms, washroom accessibility, ID processes and more.
  • Learn how you can support and be an ally for trans, Two-Spirit and non-binary people
