It’s mental health week at UVic. Here is the full list of events available to both students and staff for the rest of the week:

Wednesday. January 16th
The 5th Annual Mental Health Awareness Showcase with Special Guest Shane Koyczan:

Join us for an evening with internationally renowned spoken word artist, poet and author.
Featuring student theatre and poetry performances!
Free and open to all (ticket required).
– 4:30pm doors open
– 5:00-7:00pm the showcase, in the Farquhar Auditorium
– 7:00pm reception

Fine Arts Wellness Day
All Fine Arts students are welcome to drop by the lobby of the Fine Arts building to enjoy free chair massages, free healthy snacks & a hydration station, and get some handy tips around nutrition & stress management.
11:00am-2:00pm at the Fine Arts building

Learn to Meditate!
Multi-Faith Services is hosting this mediation session that highlights the core practices of meditation and mindful awareness. These are key tools in the development of conscious and compassionate ways of being aware of the complex and stressful reality of our lives.
Free to all. No experience required.
4:30-5:20pm at the Interfaith Chapel

Get a Massage!
Looking for a relaxing way to relieve stress and take care of your mind and body? The Health Services SHAPE Leaders, in partnership with the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, are inviting you to de-stress by receiving a free massage by massage therapists in training.
10:30-12:30pm in the McPherson Library, 1st floor

Yoga Rave:
“Glow with the flow” in our annual glow-in-the-dark yoga event! Join hundreds of UVic students in the CARSA Performance Gym for some yoga to upbeat music.
This event is FREE for UVic students with their ONECard. Community members welcome to attend by donation.
Glow supplies, a glow station for pictures, and free swag will all be available on-site!
