Hi! My name is Prakriti Raizada and I am a first-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Victoria, Victoria BC. I am always eager to learn new things and meet new people.
I am currently working on some exciting research projects on coating and infrastructure health monitoring. A substantial portion of my career has been involved in research and teaching Material and Process Engineering. As a Ph.D. student in the Civil Engineering department and having previous experience in project engineering, I enjoyed the challenging task of planning and executing projects by coordinating with other stakeholders as well as working solo. I enjoy finding STEM-oriented solutions to relevant issues. Previously I have worked on projects related to process engineering, materials engineering, Nanotechnology, and data analysis.
Being an Indian (South Asian) woman from a humble background, my interest lies in achieving ambitious sustainability-related goals in a time-bound manner and looking out to make a difference in society by being an advocate for diversity and inclusion. I am never satisfied with the status quo, and I believe in constantly adapting and evolving in an ever-changing and highly competitive environment.
