Ingrid Jasor

Originally from the Caribbean Island of Guadeloupe, Ingrid is a PhD student preparing a co-supervised thesis in Education from University of Quebec in Montréal (UQAM, Canada) and in Language Science – Linguistics from Université des Antilles (UA, Guadeloupe). She also holds an MA from Sciences Po Paris University in International Affairs as well as an MA in teaching engineering from UA. Her research focuses on second language acquisition processes in the context of diglossia and minoritized languages, including Indigenous languages in Canada. An avid traveler and language learner, she is currently learning both nēhiyawēwin and innu-aimun at beginner levels and hopes to foster cultural exchanges between her native Guadeloupean Creole and other Indigenous languages. She is also a teacher of English as a Second/Foreign Language that she taught at the secondary level.
