Identity and belonging among migrant 2SLGBTQIA+ students in post-secondary institutions?”
Queer migrants often face unique challenges in finding belonging, yet their experiences are rarely centered in research or public discussion. Led by Dr. Roya Haghiri-Vijeh (York University), we explore how queer migrant students understand and negotiate identity and belonging in Canada. Using a mixed-method approach that combines participatory photo-voice with a cross-national survey, the study connects personal stories with broader social patterns. We hope to amplify community voices and aim to inform more inclusive policies, services, and public conversations.
