Get started: What is the OAC?
An initiative of the University of Victoria, the Online Academic Community (OAC) is our WordPress instance. The OAC was created after extensive consultation across campus and meets the personal, professional and academic needs of UVic students, faculty and staff. The OAC has more than 20 up-to-date and customizable themes, allowing users to create their own unique blog or site.
The OAC has many uses, whether it’s your personal blogging site or a place to share your latest research. Take a look below to see the many different ways you can use the OAC.

The OAC is compatible with the following browsers: Mozilla Firefox 14+, Internet Explorer 8+, Safari 5+, and Google Chrome 11+. The OAC can also be viewed from a mobile device.
Getting started with the OAC is easy! Any UVic member with a NetLink ID can access the OAC:
- Click Login, and sign in with your NetLink ID and password.
- You can then go ahead and update your OAC profile, and create your own site!
