About Me

Welcome! I am a 2nd year master’s student in Applied Mathematics at the University of Victoria. I am co-supervised by Dr. Junling Ma and Dr. Pauline van den Driessche.

I also hold a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Waterloo (2015) and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Victoria (2008).

My research is focused on infectious disease modelling, particularly with respect to examining the impacts of (1) disease control measures and (2) health-related behaviours on the transmission of disease in stratified population groups and spatial patches. I also hope to apply a social determinants of health (SDOH)-related lens to this work.

I enjoy travelling, baking, reading, and gardening – especially more uncommon food-producing plants (for this area). My most recent additions include Chilean Guava, Pineapple Guava, and Haskap Berries. My days are intensely monitored by my cat, Ruby – she is pleased to approve this webpage.
