We are about to enter the new moon of ĆENŦEKI (June 18), the moon when the Sockeye Salmon return to Earth in W̱SÁNEĆ territory. It’s a good time of year, and there are a number of rad events going on around W̱SÁNEĆ and lək̓ʷəŋən.

- Restoration for Songhees, with Cheryl Bryce and Habitat Acquisition Trust (HAT). 9am-noon, register here on the HAT website. (you’ll receive more info once registered)

Restoration with PEPÁḴEṈ HÁUTW̱ at SṈIDȻEȽ (so-called Todd Inlet), 10am-2pm (see poster >). Contact Hannah Glass (hannahglass96@gmail.com) to register.

- W̱SÍ,ḴEM Ivy Project Ecosystem Restoration Day with Sarah Jim and HAT, 10am-2pm on the Tseycum Rez. Register through HAT here, and join the project’s facebook group or mailing list to stay in touch.
While not taking place during ĆENŦEKI, the 28th Annual Sampson Family Intertribal Powwow “Honouring Wəťanmy” is taking place this July 21, 22, 23 at Stelly’s Secondary School in W̱SÁNEĆ territory and the Sampson Family are looking for W̱ENITEM (settler) volunteers!
