The InSPiRe lab pursues real-world applied research across the interwoven domains of software engineering, data analytics and machine learning/AI, cyber-security and privacy, and high-tech entrepreneurship.

The bulk of this research is done in collaboration with industry and/or government partners and focuses on production-scale industry identified needs and issues.

 The exact nature and focus of undertaken projects therefore varies over time and in scope with the needs, requirements, and domains of interest of these external partners and collaborators.

The InSPiRe lab largely does not focus on or pursue the more commonplace academic sigma-delta research as many such approach simply fail to apply or function at the orders of magnitude larger scales and complexities of modern production-scale industry systems.
