Our Health: Canada-Wide 2SLGBTQQIA+ Community Study

Public health actions to reduce transmission of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) may uniquely impact Two-Spirit, Indigiqueer, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, and other sexually and gender diverse people (2SLGBTQQIA+). Due to stigma and discrimination that lead to underlying social and health inequities, direct and indirect impacts of COVID-19 may be exacerbated for 2SLGBTQQIA+ people.

The aims of this study are to 1) conduct a cross-sectional survey to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 public health control measures on the health, wellness, stigma, and material security of 2SLGBTQQIA+ people, and 2) estimate the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 among 2SLGBTQQIA+ people and evaluate the feasibility of a mail-home self-collected dried blood spot (DBS) protocol our team recently piloted with the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
