The study was a doctoral research project conducted by Marcy Antonio at the University of Victoria.  Marcy is grateful for the privilege she has had in being able to study and live on the traditional territory of the  Lekwungen peoples where the university stands, and the Songhees, Esquimalt and WSÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.

 

 

 

 

The study was supported through a patient-oriented research fellowship from the BC SUPPORT Unit – Vancouver Island.
