I’m Brendan Steed, a PhD candidate and periodic sessional instructor in the University of Victoria’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Under co-supervisors Dr. Heath Emerson and Dr. Ian Putnam, my primary research lies in the field of noncommutative geometry. The University of Victoria is also where I completed my MSc and BSH in mathematics, with the former co-supervised by Dr. Emerson and Dr. Putnam, and the latter by Dr. Jane Ye. My general mathematical interests include geometry, analysis, topology, mathematical education, and, in my free time, goaltending for the UVic Lacrosse Club.
