4. Approval of amendments to Chapter by-laws to enable online voting.
The amendments were suggested by a member through the Strategic Planning Survey. The purpose is to revise several articles of the chapter constitution to allow for the option of conducting electronic balloting rather than paper only. This is subject to a secure online voting system being developed by the Association. Changes to the constitution require a 2/3- majority of votes cast by the membership. Motion to approve the amendments as submitted in the written submission – (m) Daphne Andrews (s) Jill Tate. Carried.
5. Election of the 2012/13 Elections Committee (5 members)
Five members volunteered to sit on the Elections Committee: Daphne Andrews, Carmen Koning, Cliff Haman, Melanie Groves, and David Wang.
6. Other Business
Jill Tate passed along appreciation expressed by CUPE staff toward those PEA members who showed their support on the CUPE picket lines. This support meant a great deal to the CUPE staff. It helped CUPE to leverage their bargaining position and contributed to good will on campus.
