Discussion: Several members expressed concerns about the central ProD fund. The $1000 limit is not very high and can only be accessed every two-years. Also the requirement of depleting the personal ProD account can create a disincentive for those who like to maintain a larger personal fund for accessing year to year. Catherine reported that the policies are being reviewed.

There were also questions about the term “work intensification.” How do we define it and measure it? Catherine reports that though not much “hard evidence” is so far available, there is a growing sense that workloads are increasing. This could be from a combination of budget cuts, new technologies, changing student populations and expectations, changing management culture, and other factors. Indicators might be found in the levels of turnover, sick leave, stress leave, and time-off-in-lieu. The chapter will be looking for ways to quantify these factors in more concrete ways. Motion carried.
