5. Other Business
- Many thanks to Cliff Haman for his 2 years of service on the UVic Chapter Executive and the PEA Association Executive!!
Question Period:
- Can the UVic PEA list-serve be populated on an opt-OUT basis, as opposed to an opt-in basis? That would allow more members to be reached initially.
- Due to Provincial PEA policies around membership information, no, this is not possible. Lists must be voluntary.
- What should you do if you receive email asking if you pay Union Dues and you’re not sure who it is from?
- Delete it and call the PEA Office – it may be spam!!
- If it is from the Provincial PEA office, that is ok.
- Bargaining questions:
- Are PEA Chapters autonomous from each other in bargaining? – Yes
- How does bargaining work? – Tony gave brief explanation
- Where do we get ideas for what to bring to the bargaining table? – Members, other unions on campus, other similar organizations (SFU/UBC).
