Information for Presenters
Spoken presentations are 10 minutes plus 3 minutes for questions, with 2 minutes for speaker changeover. Most speakers use slides prepared in PowerPoint or such. We will provide a Windows laptop, so that presenters who prefer to use that can load their talks onto that laptop and open them during the break prior to the start of the session (Pro tip: Do not name your file “NOWCAM 2024” but rather something like “Lindsay NOWCAM 2024). Presenters who prefer to use a Mac or their own laptop can bring their own laptop, and prior to their talk should have it open and powered up with their slides queued and whatever dongle they might need to connect to the presenter setup. Student members of the NOWCAM Organizing Committee will serve as session chairs, and will assist speakers with setup and notify speakers of time remaining in their talks during the sessions.
At NOWCAM students are given priority when it comes to asking questions (see 1-page tip sheet on asking questions).
Poster panels are 4′ x 4′ but often a smaller poster looks better and is easier to take in. Minimize text, emphasis main points. We will provide thumbtacks.
