The government, during the early twentieth century, initially had an antagonistic relationship towards the labour movement and unionization. But would later take steps towards relieving anxieties in the workplace and some social injustices. These measures would not include persons who were outside of the “White Canada Forever” motif – which was especially prevalent along the coast of British Columbia.
