Chase is a Third-year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Victoria. He is passionate about ocean technology and sustainability, and he joined UVEEC to apply his engineering and leadership skills to innovative long-term projects. Under his leadership, the team is working to push the boundaries of student-driven marine research and development.

Noah Wessels
Bio
Noah joined the UVEEC mechanical team in the fall of 2021 when starting his degree at UVic. After the completion of the club’s first project, Noah pitched the concept of an underwater glider to the club. He led the development of the V0 glider prototype as the project manager and club president for over two years. Besides UVEEC projects, he has experience in marine engineering through co-ops at Babcock Canada and Cellula robotics, as well as hardware engineering experience through D-Wave Systems.

Bio
Michael is a fourth year Electrical Engineering student at the University of Victoria. He is passionate about team building, and about advancing the world of marine research through his understanding and application of systems – level engineering, focusing on electrical systems. In his spare time, Michael loves to cycle, run, and hike around Victoria and Vancouver Island.

Ethan is pursuing a degree in economics, concentrating in finance and minoring in business. He is interested in corporate finance and project management at the firm level, as well as financial markets and investing. At UVEEC, Ethan looks forward to gaining hands-on experience in project management and finance while contributing to environmentally focused initiatives and seeing the real-world impact of the glider project.

Steve is a 4th year Software Engineering student at the University of Victoria with a strong interest in robotics and embedded systems. He enjoys tackling complex technical challenges, from low-level microcontroller development to high-level system design, and is passionate about building autonomous systems across marine, air, and land domains. Outside of academics, Steve enjoys going to the gym, reading, and gaming with friends.
