The Unlearning and Undoing White Supremacy Project was a two-year initiative in which the OPHO began to deliberately take anti-racist approaches to arrest white supremacy and racism. Through a commitment to see the ways that anti-Indigenous racism and white supremacy show up in day-to-day work (i.e. policies, practices, processes), several successful initiatives were developed and have been adopted across other teams within the Ministry of Health. The OPHO remains active in its commitment to upholding inherent rights to health and wellness of Indigenous peoples, and has transitioned to ongoing efforts to embed Indigenous rights, truth, and reconciliation across the OPHO.
