The 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) of the Canadian Organization of Medical Physicists (COMP) is being held June 4-7 in London, ON and the COMP Student Council (SC) wants to help financially support an undergraduate and graduate student to attend this national medical physics conference.

In line with this commitment, we are delighted to announce the fourth-annual Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Student Travel Award.

Applications are currently open with a deadline of 23:59 ET, April 7th, 2025, and you can find more information on the COMP IDEA Student Travel Award webpage.

Please note that this travel award is only available to COMP Student Members and you can apply for membership here for a student rate of $45/year. Find out how a COMP Student Membership can benefit your personal and professional trajectory in physics here.

The COMP SC is committed to fostering an environment of inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility (IDEA) within the field of medical physics. We firmly believe that embracing IDEA principles is essential for delivering exceptional cancer care, fostering innovation, and propelling research and academic excellence forward. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by equity-denied groups in our profession, the COMP SC aims to increase representation and inclusion for students who identify with equity-denied groups.

This initiative seeks to provide financial assistance to students identifying with equity-denied groups who demonstrate financial need, assisting in their attendance at the 2025 COMP ASM. Through this award, we hope to inspire the next generation of medical physicists by offering valuable exposure, experience, and mentorship opportunities to our vibrant student community.
