Growing up playing baseball for Layritz Little League in Victoria, BC, I remember always loving to swing for the trees on the T-ball field and race around the bases. Throughout my years pursuing high-performance baseball, I was often smaller than my teammates, but I was fortunate to have mentors who challenged me—first to the batting cage and last to leave the field—instilling the perseverance and resilience I still value today.

While reflecting on my experiences with Layritz Little League, Triangle Baseball, the Victoria Eagles, and now my final year with the Victoria Golden Tide, I realized I wanted to start giving back. Once I decided to pursue this path, I reached out to Hampton Little League. From our very first practice, I saw the potential impact I could have on these kids’ lives through baseball mentorship.

As a baseball player, coach and founder, I’ve seen firsthand how sports can shape a young person’s life, which is why I focus on helping athletes sharpen their skills, build confidence, and cultivate mental resilience—reinforcing that failure is an essential step in their growth. Watching once-shy players grow into fearless competitors is a powerful reminder of what the right guidance and determination can accomplish.

Returning to Victoria’s grassroots baseball reminds me how special this community is, and I hope my experience shapes the next generation—both on and off the field. Looking ahead, I’m excited to expand across Victoria’s youth leagues, so even more kids can discover their potential and fall in love with the game.
