I have a huge lady crush on Ann Friedman<\/a>. She\u2019s killing it on the internet and I admire her freelance journalism career. (like omg check out her FAQ page<\/a>, it\u2019s too good for words.)<\/p>\n

Her career trajectory is something I envy, but it also seems attainable or at least not uncommon. Ann writes weekly for The Cut<\/i>, The Hairpin<\/i> and the Columbia Journalism Review<\/i>. Her work also appears in places like The New Yorker.<\/i><\/p>\n

Okay, okay so not groundbreaking investigative journalism, but these are topics that A) appeal to me and B) relate to my life.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m all for reading about \u2018technology\u2019 and the latest updates\/programs\/devices, but I enjoy (and admire) writers who weave our current technologies into their writing and their branding\/self-promotion. Like I said above, Ann is killing it.<\/p>\n

Her website<\/a> is a lovely little Tumblr where she posts her work and other insightful lady tidbits. I mean, you don\u2019t have to be a lady to enjoy her stuff, but I am her target demographic\u2014 female writer.<\/p>\n

She has Twitter<\/a>, duh. It\u2019s also lovely.<\/p>\n

And she sends out a weekly newsletter. At first I wasn\u2019t sure what I was getting myself into like do you just want my email to spam me with clickthrough links so you make money??? <\/i>Nope, it\u2019s not like that at all. She includes her published work from the week, a GIF inspiration and a curated reading list of the week\u2019s best internet stuff.<\/p>\n
