I would have had pen and paper for everyone, so we could follow along with Graham. I believe everyone can draw with practice. This was pretty fun to watch, and I did draw Spike while I was doodling at home. It even looked like Spike!

At the end of his Talk, Graham talks a bit about “limiting beliefs”. It reminded me of this post by Eric Barker: Changing These 4 Beliefs Will Make You Surprisingly Happy that you might find interesting.

Graham has a second talk “How to draw to remember more” that I haven’t watched yet, but I will… if I remember.

Why some of us don’t have one true calling
Emilie Wapnick | TEDxBend

I was really interested in Emilie’s talk, and saw myself (a bit) in her description of “multipotentialites”. Mostly because at the ripe old age of 50-ish I don’t really know what I want to be when I grow up. I’m holding out for the idea that if I haven’t grown up by 60, I won’t have to. Thank goodness I have a job where I get to do many different things, but I kind of like Emilie’s description of finding one thing, diving in until, well, you basically get bored, then moving on to the next thing. I often feel too spread out over all my interests! Ah well, it’s not a terrible problem to have.

For this TED Talk Lunch we joined forces with our Systems Fun Committee’s Dine-In team.
