After 2 weeks of holiday, it was good to take a break from all those waiting emails and join my fellow TED Talk enthusiasts for a couple of very interesting talks. Here are this month’s picks, chosen by Ricardo and Blair:
Sugata Mitra: Build a School in the Cloud
“Onstage at TED2013, Sugata Mitra makes his bold TED Prize wish: Help me design the School in the Cloud, a learning lab in India, where children can explore and learn from each other — using resources and mentoring from the cloud. Hear his inspiring vision for Self Organized Learning Environments (SOLE), and learn more at tedprize.org.” Link to Talk
Jane Poynter: Life in Biosphere 2
“Jane Poynter tells her story of living two years and 20 minutes in Biosphere 2 — an experience that provoked her to explore how we might sustain life in the harshest of environments.” Link to Talk
Ricardo brought a few picks. Here are the ones we didn’t get to:
Okay, I had to watch these last two as well. Chris Hadfield, well, what’s not to like about an articulate artistic astronaut? And I loved Joe! I would’ve pegged him as a fab high school teacher, not a lawyer, but hey.
Next month’s TTL date will be posted soon!
The paper towel tip actually works! Good one!
I know. My hand-drying methods have completely changed. Tip: shake your hands over the trash can instead of at the sink. Less likely to smack your hands on porcelain and/or the faucet – and less mess around the sink!
