My goodness. It’s been a long time since I’ve posted! It’s been hard to keep up with all the Zoom news. So. Many. Changes.
Second only to the mostly-joking “Have you tried turning it off and on again?” is the mantra “Have you installed the latest Zoom client?” Actually, both of these things fix more than you might expect.
Good news, folks! Zoom’s latest desktop client finally has the option to automatically update. Don’t know what took them so long, but it’s here at long last.
The catch, of course, is that you need to get the latest version in order to get the new auto update feature. Never fear – here’s how to get the latest client all by yourself – one last time 😀
- Open Zoom on your computer
- Click on your photo/letter icon on the top right
- Choose Check for Updates
Now this next bit is clever. Once that update is installed, the confirmation message will show you the new auto update setting. By default, it’s turned on to get the “slow” release. (Read about the option here.) I changed mine from slow to “fast”, so I get the latest and greatest right away.
Taa-daa!! Now we can get back to watching the IT Crowd 🙂
